Not a High-Schooler?
Not a problem! Any form of support is greatly appreciated, no matter what age you are. Please feel free to contact us about any volunteer work you are able to provide. Here is a list of things that are greatly needed for DDM:
1. Fundraiser Helpers
Anyone and everyone is highly encouraged to attend fundraising events, such as Dine for Diabetes Week and other events. However, there are plenty of volunteer opportunities available at each of these events. If you can spare your time, fundraising events are in need of helpers.
2. Diabetes Speakers
If you or someone you know has Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, you can be a Diabetes Speaker at the dance marathon to share your experience with the disease.
3. Entertainers
If you can sing your heart out, perform magic, or do any other form of on-stage entertainment, you are greatly needed at the Diabetes Dance Marathon.
4. Big Event Set-Up
Anyone who is available before Diabetes Dance Marathon (and who is preferably not attending, since you'll need your energy saved!) can volunteer to set up the event.
5. Decorations
If you are artistically gifted, then some help with decoration design would be wonderful!
If you can volunteer through these jobs or know of any other way you can help out, please fill out the Volunteer Contact Form below.
If your time is limited and you cannot attend events, you may want to become a Diabetes Diplomat! Diabetes Diplomats are encouraged to raise awareness about Diabetes in their community, as well as raise funds for Diabetes research. You can make an online donations page at http://diabetesdiplomats.kintera.org/, so we are that much closer to finding a cure!
Thank you!
